Welcome

AFC Newbury, which incorporates AFC Newbury Colts, is a community-focussed youth football club providing local soccer for over 200 children from Newbury and its surrounding towns and villages.

For the 2011-12 season the Club is again running several small-sided and full-sided football teams covering every age group from Under 7’s to Under 17’s. To find out about a team, contact the relevant manager by clicking Contacts.

Run by a committed team of volunteer officers, managers, coaches and helpers, our aim is to provide football for all, irrespective of race, religion, creed, colour or ability, in a friendly and positive setting to build skills, team spirit and self-esteem. We are committed to creating and preserving the safest possible environment for children to play the best football they can.

The Club is affiliated to the Berks & Bucks Football Association and was awarded the FA Charter Standard in 2007. This scheme sets standards of coaching, administration and child protection for clubs working with young people. Our coaches and managers first undertake the FA Level 1 club coach qualification, which includes first aid and child protection elements, and are security checked by the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB). We also support the FA's Respect programme which advocates mutual respect between players, officials, coaches and spectators.

The club's squads compete in the Peter Houseman Youth League, the South Chiltern Minor League, the North Wilts & District Youth & Minor Football League and the Oxford Mail Boys League. Matches are normally played on a Sunday, with training one evening a week in addition. For information about our teams click Teams.

We also raise money for charities like Swings'n'Smiles through our annual penalty shootout competition and other events. For information about our charities click Links.
